Brian Roberts Finally Headed to Wrigley

Unfortunately, he's still playing for the Baltimore Orioles. The Chicago Cubs 2nd most rumored acquisition this past offseason heads to Wrigley with the Baltimore Orioles for a 3 game set starting on Tuesday. I still think the Cubs would have been better off with him playing 2B everyday and Mark DeRosa playing SS, Ryan Theriot has been very good so far for the first half of the season, but the Cubs are going to need him to continue this pace in order for them to make a run at finally winning everything.

Roberts coming into this series, Roberts is having the year that everyone expected him to have. He's hitting around .290, his on-base percentage is 80 points higher and has stolen 21 bases, which would be the highest on the Cubs if he had been playing for them. And with the Orioles only 5.5 games out of the wildcard spot, it appears that the Orioles have no intention of moving him this season and I would imagine are planning on trying to extend him past 2009.
