Did Kenny find his CF?

If so, the White Sox aren't going to be that improved. The Chicago White Sox signed Cuban refugee Alexi Ramirez to a 4-year deal this past week. He's a SS by trade, but the Sox already have 2 of those and he can play 2B, and is a candidate there, but I think the White Sox signed him to play CF.

The problem with that is the Cuban Baseball League is considered the equivalent of Short Season A-Ball and if that's the case, he might not be ready for the Majors in 2009 or 2010 and by then, I don't expect Kenny Williams to be around and see if his pickup is worth anything.

The other problem is that Ramirez is also "26" which could mean he's anywhere from 26-32. It's a risky pickup for the Sox and if this is their answer for CF in 2008, then I don't expect the Sox record to be better than 2007.

If the Chicago Cubs plan on getting 2B Brian Roberts, it won't be 2008 as Baltimore Orioles President Andy McPhail doesn't expect any deals before the calender flips. I still hope the Cubs get him, but only on the condition that he plays 2B and Mark DeRosa plays SS, not Ryan Theriot. It would also be great if Roberts leads off, but that's not as big a priority as getting Theriot out of the lineup. He's not an everyday SS and proved that with his pitiful 2nd half last year.
